The six tennis courts located at Taber Place are set for crack repair and resurfacing. As part of a capital improvement project approved in 2021, the six courts will receive a well overdue makeover. "Tennis Courts should be resurfaced every 5-6 years", said Parks & Recreation Director Alex Domaradzki. Unfortunately in cost savings measures, we've extended that well beyond the 5-6 mark, with the last full resurface being completed in 2005.
Advanced Athletic Surfaces LLC out of Greensboro GA won the bid at a cost of $43,380.00. The company has repaired and resurfaced over 500 courts in 18 states and looks to begin working on the courts with a tentative start date of June 4. With good weather, the crew will be finished between 10-14 days.
The work will include repair of approximately 875 linear feet of cracks and a complete resurface and repainting of the 6 courts. Pickleball lines will be added to each of the courts to make the courts multifunctional for both tennis and pickleball users alike.
