Level 4- Stroke ImprovementPurpose: Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills. Learn-to-Swim Level 4 participants receive a Waddles in the Deep full-color booklet that reinforces class instruction to help swimmers develop confidence in their strokes and improve other aquatic skills. In addition to improving the front crawl and back crawl, Level 4 participants learn to.1. Dive from compact or stride position2. Swim breaststroke3. Tread water using sculling arm motions and kick4. Swim underwater5. Swim elementary backstroke6. Use safe diving rules7. Perform throwing assists8. Perform feet-first surface dive9. Swim on side using scissors kick10. Care for conscious choking victim11. Coordinate butterfly12. Perform open turns on front and back13. Perform compact jump into water from a height while wearing life jacketCertification Requirements:Successfully complete the following exit skills assessment:1. Perform a feet-first entry into chest-deep water, swim front crawl for 35 yards, maintain position on back 1 minute in deep water (float or sculling) and swim elementary backstroke for 15 yards.2.
