  • Preparing for and how to build a campfire
     And much, much more...

At the end of the program, on Saturday, August 7, we will take the kids on a bus trip to the Town of Lockport Nature Trail where they put the skills they learned in the prior 5 weeks to a test with our very AdveNTure Race.

Our Outdoor AdveNTure program is coming to a close. It is now time to take what the kids and have learned throughout the summer and put them to the test in our very own AdveNTure Challenge.

This Saturday is our end-of-the-summer trip to the Lockport Nature Trails. (Click the link for details about the destination)

Kids should be dropped off at the Norman Keller Office Building (500 Wheatfield St) by 9:30 AM Saturday morning. The bus will depart for Lockport by 10 AM. Once at the destination, kids will compete in shelter-making, knot tying, and floating vessel-making contests.

We'll set up a makeshift campsite and enjoy lunch outdoors before we head back to NT. The bus is scheduled to arrive back at the Norman Keller Office Building by 1:30 PM.

Kids should come dressed in comfortable gear suitable for hiking. Bug spray is highly recommended. Each child should have their own water bottle. There's a chance of getting wet so perhaps a change of socks or even some slides (flip flops) to wear on the bus on the way home. Masks will be required for the bus trip
