Our department will once again be conducting the tree planting program for the fall 2019 season.  A variety of bare root trees will be available for purchase at the cost of $50 for residents of North Tonawanda.  The trees are to be placed on the property between the street and sidewalk.

Residents can view the available selection by clicking on the link below, or coming into the Recreation Office to view the book of available trees, including pictures and description.  Once a tree has been selected and purchased, the owner must mark the desired planting area.  Dig 911 will review the location and once approved, the City will plant and stake the tree typically in late fall/early winter (November).  This is done while the trees are dormant allowing for the tree to put out new roots prior to having to cope with the hot sun and stress that the summer brings.  The trees planted are saplings, generally 4-5 feet in height.

For more information call 695-8520 or stop in to purchase your tree today!  Deadline to place your tree order is October 4, 2019.
