The City has announced a Grand Opening of the Mayors Park Playground set for August 14, 2019 at 6:00pm.  All are welcome to join the fun, as there will be a brief ribbon cutting ceremony followed by the opening of the playground, as well as food, and activities.

After receiving a grant through the Ralph C Wilson Jr. Foundation the City of North Tonawanda began the implementation of a new playground at Mayors Park with the Build It with KaBOOM! program.  This program allowed for kids and adults to be a part of the design process, and resulted in a 5,000 sq ft design which included completely inclusive pieces to support play for all kids.

With the help of BlueCross BlueShield of WNY as a main sponsor, and the great generosity of local community members, businesses, and organizations, the dream of a new playground was now a reality.

On Saturday July 27 over 150 volunteers worked under the guidance of experts to build the playground.  Click here to watch footage of the build day!  The delay in opening has been waiting on contractors to install the special poured rubber surfacing which will be ADA compliant and allow wheelchair access to all parts of the play area.  With the installation happening at the back-end of the week, the park is set for play on August 14!
