With boating season here, the Recreation Department would like to remind boaters that all boat trailers using any of our three launches (Service Drive, Botanical Gardens or Gratwick) must have a boat trailer permit.  Permits are available at the Recreation Office at 500 Wheatfield Street during normal hours of operation (M-F 8:30am-4:30pm with extended hours on Tuesday until 6:30pm through May 21).

Boat permits are $30 and good for the 2019 boating season.  Patrons must bring with them their trailer registration paperwork.  The permit sticker should be placed on the back of the trailer where it will be visible for police enforcement to locate.

New for the 2019 boating season, our department has installed a boat kiosk station at the Gratwick Riverside Launch Site.  This kiosk was paid for by Confer Plastics to give boaters who do not have a season trailer permit an option to pay for a one day launch.  The kiosk is a "pay and display" method which allows boaters to pay $5 for a one day trailer permit.  The receipt should be displayed clearly on the dashboard of the vehicle.  Permits are valid until 11:59pm the day the permit is purchased.  The kiosk only accepts credit cards (no cash or coins).

All trailers parked at our launch site without a valid permit will be subject to a fine.  For boaters planning on parking their trailer overnight, it is best to call the NT Police Station 692-4111 and notify the dispatch to avoid be ticketed for parking outside of park hours.
